Job summary

CoxHealth in Springfield, MO seeks Nurse Assistant Trainees to provide basic patient care under nursing supervision. This program emphasizes vitals, daily living activities, and patient comfort while developing clinical competencies.

Participants complete a training sequence in a clinical setting, culminating in a competency assessment. Preferred candidates hold a high school diploma and basic healthcare exposure; MO CNA licensure must be pursued within 120 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 3 months experience as a nursing assistant, EMT, or Surgical Technologist in past 3 years (or completion of related program).
• Missouri CNA License or completion of MO CNA Appendix; license must be obtained within 120 days of hire.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care under the direction of nursing staff.
• Take vitals, assist with bathing, dressing, and movement of patients; change linens as needed.
• Report changes in patient condition to nursing staff or clinical educator.
• During training, perform duties within scope of practice and participate in competency assessments.
• Support clinical educator and nursing staff during classroom and clinical rotations.
