Job Summary
The Nursing Assistant (NA) serves as caregiver to residents during scheduled work hours in long-term care, providing resident-centered nursing care and assistance with daily living activities under RN supervision. Knowledge of age-appropriate care and infection control policies is required. Part-time evening hours are 4:30 pm - 9 pm.
Responsibilities include assisting with bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, vital signs, psychosocial support, transfers, range of motion exercises, food preparation, and dining assistance. The NA supports nursing staff, documents care, communicates resident conditions, and assists with housekeeping and recreational activities. Participation in committees may be required.
Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED (preferred), minimum age of 16, prior experience preferred, and current CNA certification or enrollment in a training program. Continuing education and certifications must be maintained. Some roles may require a valid driver’s license and medical clearance for driving responsibilities.
