Job summary

Providence St Elias Specialty Hospital in Anchorage, AK is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient care under supervision of an RN/LPN. You’ll apply basic science knowledge in a real-world clinical setting and help support a culture of compassionate care.

Eligible candidates must have Alaska Nursing Assistant Certification, Alaska license, and BLS through American Heart Association within 30 days of hire. There is a $2,500 hiring bonus for qualifying external hires.

Qualifications

• Alaska state-approved Nursing Assistant Certification course or equivalent.
• Alaska Nursing Assistant Certification license required at hire.
• National Provider BLS (American Heart Association) within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

Provides and assists in the provision of, direct patient care under the supervision of a RN/LPN and whose activities require an understanding of basic anatomical, biological, psychological, cultural, and social sciences.

Up to $2,500 hiring bonus for eligible full-time external hires that meet required qualifications and conditions for payment.

Hours: Full Time 36-hour weekly, (3) 12-hour shifts weekly

Shift: Day Shifts

Required Qualifications

• Coursework/Training: Successful completion of an Alaska state-approved Nursing Assistant Certification course or other education which meets state certification requirements.
• Upon hire: Alaska Nursing Assistant Certification License
• Within 30 days of hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications

• Coursework/Training: Some college courses in nursing or therapy field.
• 3 months Nursing assistant experience in acute or extended care.
