Job summary

Providence St Elias Specialty Hospital in Anchorage seeks a Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse. This full-time role offers a 36-hour work week with three 12-hour day shifts, onsite at the AK Anchorage facility.

Required qualifications include completion of an Alaska state-approved CNA program and Alaska CNA license at hire, plus National BLS from the American Heart Association within 30 days.

• Alaska state-approved Nursing Assistant Certification course or equivalent per state requirements.
• Alaska Nursing Assistant Certification License required at hire.

Job description

Provides and assists in the provision of, direct patient care under the supervision of a RN/LPN and whose activities require an understanding of basic anatomical, biological, psychological, cultural, and social sciences.

Up to $2,500 hiring bonus for eligible full-time external hires that meet required qualifications and conditions for payment.

Hours: Full Time 36-hour weekly, (3) 12-hour shifts weekly

Shift: Day Shifts

Required Qualifications:

• Coursework/Training: Successful completion of an Alaska state-approved Nursing Assistant Certification course or other education which meets state certification requirements.
• Upon hire: Alaska Nursing Assistant Certification License
• Within 30 days of hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications:

• Coursework/Training: Some college courses in nursing or therapy field.
• 3 months Nursing assistant experience in acute or extended care.
