Job summary

Aegis Therapies is hiring a Wellness Instructor in Restorative Care in Aberdeen, SD. Join the Rehab Therapy Team to design and deliver wellness, fitness, and exercise programs for residents in a skilled nursing setting.

This role includes on-site restorative training (no prior restorative experience required) and working under the Director of Rehabilitation with the therapy team to promote holistic well-being and patient mobility.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• Current certification as Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in state of practice.
• Specialty certification as personal trainer, exercise specialist, fitness instructor, health and fitness specialist or similar area, preferred.
• Background in exercise and activity training with senior populations, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide knowledge and expertise in delivering wellness, fitness, and exercise programs with the rehabilitation team.
• Receive full restorative training onsite; no restorative experience required.
• Assist in restorative care of patients as directed.
• Carry out exclusive restorative responsibilities (ambulation, transfer training, bed mobility, ROM, dressing/grooming, splint/prosthesis care) with limited tasks.

Job Type: Full Time

Schedule: Up to 40 hours per week with weekend coverage

Setting: Rehabilitation Center, Skilled Nursing Facility, Senior Care Wellness

Location: Aberdeen, SD

As a CNA/Wellness Instructor for Restorative Care, you will:

• Report to the Director of Rehabilitation / Therapy and work exclusively with the therapy team to provide knowledge and expertise in delivering appropriate wellness, fitness, and exercise programs.
• Receive full restorative training provided onsite. No restorative experience necessary, (CNA Certification Required)
• Assist in the restorative care of patients as directed.
• Exclusive restorative responsibilities (Ambulation, transfer training, bed mobility, active/passive range of motion, dressing/grooming, splint/prosthesis care) with limited or none of the “less desirable” tasks that often accompany a CNA position.
