Job summary

Qualitycorrectional is looking for a Quality Medical Technician (QMT) to provide critical medical care at LaPorte County Jail. You will be responsible for medication administration, obtaining vital signs, and responding to medical emergencies. Candidates must have an active CPR certification and six months of medical field experience is required, while certification as EMT, QMA, or CMA is highly preferred. Qualifications

• Active CPR certification required.
• Minimum of 6 months of experience in the medical field.
• EMT, QMA, or CMA certification highly preferred.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Capability to push, pull, reach, and bend frequently.
• Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Medication administration.
• Obtaining vital signs.
• Assisting in sick call using medical protocols.
• Communicating with the facility or on‑call Medical Provider.
• Respond to medical emergencies.
• Perform life‑saving measures and direct in emergencies.
• Collect laboratory specimens as needed.
• Maintain accurate patient charts.

Quality Medical Technician (QMT) Responsibilities

• Medication administration
• Obtaining vital signs
• Assisting in sick call using medical protocols

• Be capable of performing life‑saving measures and ability to take charge and give direction in an emergency.
• Collect laboratory specimens, as needed
• Follow the “Rules of 100” and provide patient care as specified
• Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date information in patient charts

Location:

LaPorte County Jail

Shift Opening(s):

6 PM to 6 AM, 3 days per week with every other weekend rotation

Requirements:
