Job summary

Suffolk County Community College seeks a full-time Professional Assistant - Certified Nurse Aide Program Coordinator for the Jane F. Shearer School of Nursing at the Riverhead campus. The role reports to the Associate Dean and oversees CNA/NATP program operations.

The position requires a BSN and an active NYS RN license, plus RN/CNA experience and program coordination skills. Demonstrated involvement with NATP is preferred and a pathway to teaching is available.

Qualifications

• BSN required and NYS RN license active and unencumbered.
• Experience as a RN caring for adults/geriatric patients.
• Experience coordinating a CNA/NATP program is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review and revise admission criteria, curriculum and progression standards per NATP requirements.
• Maintain student handbook and program policy manual; manage clinical agreements.
• Coordinate clinical placements, equipment inventory and instructional resources.
• Recruit, hire and orient faculty; assist with instruction and student guidance.
• Prepare students for certification exams and assist with job placement; track outcomes.
