Job summary

Immanuel Living in Kalispell, MT seeks a Full Time CNA caregiver for a NOC shift (6pm–6am) to assist residents with personal care, dining services, and daily activities. You will follow care plans, document care details, and communicate with nurses and supervisors to maintain quality resident care.

Ideal candidates have high school diploma or GED, 2+ years in memory care, and Montana CNA certification in good standing; CNA preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or GED preferred.
• At least 2 years of healthcare experience working in a memory care setting.
• CNA Certification Preferred, and with current Montana CNA certification, must be in good standing to work as a CNA in Montana.

Responsibilities

• Accurately and safely perform resident care in accordance with residents' care plan and nurses' instructions.
• Answer call lights in a timely manner.
• Pick up and maintain resident rooms in a neat and orderly condition.
• Assist residents to and from meals, meetings, and activities, as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality of residents and staff.
• Inform Assisted Living Nurse Coordinator or Medication Nurse of changes in resident condition.

The primary purpose of this position is to perform or oversee resident performance of personal care or assist residents to perform personal care, including dining services, in accordance with Facility policies and procedures. This position is a Full Time NOC (6pm - 6a) Shift in The Lodge, Assisted Living Memory Care.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain confidentiality of residents, resident family members, coworkers, and Immanuel Living
• Understand and support the philosophy, policies, and standards of Immanuel Living and the Assisted Living Department
• Maintain quality of resident care, including compliance with Facility and Assisted Living Department policies and procedures, and State and Federal guidelines
• Follow facility and department policies and procedures

Position Duties

• Accurately and safely perform resident care in accordance with residents' care plan, resident Assignment Sheet and worksheets, and nurses' instructions
• Answer call lights in a timely manner
• Pick up and maintain resident rooms in a neat and orderly condition
• Assist residents to and from meals, meetings, and activities, as needed
• Straighten and maintain department rooms and equipment storage areas in a neat and orderly condition

Documentation and Communication

• Accurately record resident care on Resident Assignment Sheet
• Inform Assisted Living Nurse Coordinator or Medication Nurse of improvement or decline in resident condition on a timely basis
• At the end of assigned shift, give report to the incoming shift
• Answer department telephone
• Communicate with supervisor and participate in training and/or meetings that help facilitate departmental communication process
• Communicate with others in a considerate manner

Professional Licenses or Certifications Required by Law, Rule, or Regulation for Performing this Position

• The employee must be at least 18 years of age, as position operates potentially hazardous equipment.
• The employee must be able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and be able to work under time and/or deadline pressures.
• While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to stand at least 90% of the shift; use hands to finger; handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, bend, squat, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear.
• The employee must frequently lift up to 10 pounds, rarely lift up to 20 pounds, occasionally lift up to 40 pounds, but rarely lift more than 40 pounds.
• The employee must occasionally reach above shoulder height, frequently reach from chest to shoulder, frequently reach from waist to chest, and frequently reach below waist level.
• The employee must occasionally carry up to 12 pounds but rarely carry up to 20 pounds.
• The employee must frequently push / pull up to 20 pounds, and frequently push up to 40 pounds but rarely push over 40 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required of this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Education and Experience

• Graduation from high school or GED preferred.
• At least 2 years of healthcare experience working in a memory care setting
• CNA Certification Preferred, and with current Montana CNA certification, must be in good standing to work as a CNA in Montana
