Care New England Health System is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide hands-on patient care under RN supervision in a Rhode Island hospital setting. The role involves assisting with personal hygiene, documenting care, and supporting routine treatments to promote patient comfort.

The position requires vocational/technical training, a RI Nursing Assistant license, and at least six months of related experience. Work is performed on-site in a hospital environment with adherence to all policies.

Qualifications

• Vocational/Technical training and more than six months job-related experience or equivalent.
• RI State Nursing Assistant license is required.

Responsabilités

• Provide general patient care and routine treatments under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Assist with personal hygiene to promote patient comfort and well-being.
• Check and record intake and output as ordered.
• Take and record patient’s vital signs and other measurements as indicated.
• Give enemas, reinforce simple non-sterile dressings, apply binders, collect specimens, apply heat or cold devices and perform other routine tasks.
• Assist the RN in caring for seriously ill patients or in complicated treatments or procedures.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment with well-stocked supplies and functioning equipment.
• Maintain patient’s medical records in an orderly manner and document all care provided and significant information, legibly, accurately and completely.
• Observe assigned patients and report any patient care problem, change in patient condition or unexpected occurrences to RN/Team Leader.
• Maintain current knowledge of specialty by attending seminars and in-services.
• Performs all other related duties as assigned.
