Job summary

Harborview Medical Center is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) / Patient Care Technician (PCT) for 90% FTE on the Day shift. Responsibilities include direct and indirect patient care under RN supervision, assisting with activities of daily living, ensuring safety, transporting patients and equipment, preparing for surgery, and taking vital signs.

Requires WA CNA certification, BLS, and 6 months of direct patient care experience.

Qualifications

  • Current, valid Certified Nursing Assistant Certification (NAC) with WA State.
  • High School graduation and six months experience involving direct patient care or customer service in a health care setting.
  • Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider CPR card by start date.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and indirect care to patients and their families under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living: bathing, dressing, mobility, eating.
  • Maintain a safe environment of care and patient transportation as needed.
  • Prepare patients for surgery and perform non-invasive lab procedures.
  • Transport equipment and supplies and assist with treatments.
  • Take vital signs and perform clerical tasks as required.
