Bethesda Health Group is seeking a part-time CNA at our Oakland-area facility. You will provide patient care, hygiene, ambulation and safety, while documenting accurately in patient records and reporting to the Charge Nurse. The role requires lifting, movement of residents, and timely responses to calls.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• Active CNA certification in the state you will be working.
• CPR certification, or willing to obtain within six months of employment.
• Long-term care experience preferred.
• Excellent communication skills to interact verbally with patients, visitors, and staff.
• Ability to manage time and organize daily schedule to meet productivity standards.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift heavy object using proper lifting techniques and with assistance when necessary.
• Ability to transfer and move patients who vary with ability to assist weighing 200+lbs using proper lifting techniques and with assistance when necessary.
• Ability to push and pull equipment weighing in excess of 40lbs using proper techniques and with assistance when necessary.
• Manual dexterity, coordination and skillful use of hands when working with patients and equipment.
• Ability to physically perform necessary documentation in writing or use of tape recorder.
• Visual acuity with the ability to distinguish color.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care related to hygiene, nutrition, ambulation, elimination, and safety.
• Document accurately into patient records per guidelines.
• Orient new residents and ensure ID bands and admission kits.
• Respond promptly to call lights and resident needs.
• Turn and reposition residents regularly and assist with transfers.
• Take vital signs and weights and report changes to Charge Nurse.
• Ensure proper use of care items as ordered by physicians or therapy.
• Maintain supplies and equipment and report needs.
• Complete ongoing education and participate in reassignments as needed.
• Communicate effectively with team members and department managers.
