Job summary

Valley Health System is seeking a Certified Nurse Aide for our Orthopaedics department. The CNA will perform routine personal care for patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.

Excellent benefits and opportunities are available; preferred candidates hold a High School Diploma and BLS/AHA certifications, with required nursing registry credentials for Virginia/West Virginia work locations.

Qualifications

• Must understand basic principles of human growth and development.
• Must be competent to interact with patients according to their age.
• Must have a reliable means of phone communication with hospital.
• BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - required.
• New hires must have AHA appropriate certification prior to orientation.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine personal care duties for patients under supervision of RN/LPN.
• Maintains a safe environment and reports any problems.
• May act as a preceptor in the orientation of new CNAs.
