Job summary
The Nursing Assistant (NA I) position at Duke Raleigh Hospital, a campus of Duke University Hospital, supports our healthcare team on the 3rd floor Orthopedics unit, working night shifts from 7:00pm to 7:30am with shift differentials.
As a patient care partner, you will assist with basic care, document in the EMR, record vital signs, and help with procedures while maintaining a compassionate, safe environment for patients and families. Relocation assistance may be available.
Qualifications
- Nursing Assistant (NA I) is required.
- BCLS certification must be maintained/completed by end of new hire orientation.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 35 pounds with assistance.
- Excellent communication and teamwork with RN/LPN.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients, equipment and supplies for procedures.
- Record patient data for medical records and inform RN/LPN.
- Administer basic care including feeding, bathing, hygiene and comfort.
- Assist with ambulation, positioning and discharge transportation.
- Take vital signs and document I&O; notify nurse of changes.
- Assist with specimen collection and routine tests.
- Maintain charts and update EMR with orders and patient information.
