Job summary

Freedom Behavioral is seeking a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) or Mental Health Technician (MHT) to join our inpatient care team. You will assist licensed nurses, help patients with activities of daily living, and contribute to a safe therapeutic environment.

Responsibilities include direct patient care, meal assistance, charting, answering phones, and supervising patients during breaks. Strong English communication and quick thinking in critical situations are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred; related psychiatric schooling is a plus.
• One year inpatient hospital experience preferred.
• Physical strength and agility to assist patients with agitation and disruptive behavior.
• Mental alertness and the ability to think quickly and react in critical situations.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to assist with activities of daily living.
• Assist with meals, chart production, answering phones, and supervising patients during breaks.
• Communicate patient observations to the licensed nursing staff.
• Support overall day-to-day functioning of the program and other staff in patient care tasks.
