Job summary

Freedom Behavioral in DeQuincy, Louisiana, is seeking a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) or Mental Health Technician (MHT) to facilitate quality patient care as part of the nursing staff. Qualifications

Job description

The Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) or Mental Health Technician (MHT) is a member of the nursing staff who facilitates quality patient care. The CNA/MHT supports the licensed nursing staff by performing routinely assigned tasks, providing direct patient care, and ensuring that patients' activities of daily living are met. They act as the visible presence on the unit, communicate patient needs and observations to the licensed nursing staff, and assist with overall program functioning such as patient chart production, meal provision, answering telephones, and supervising patients during staff break periods.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate quality patient care and ensure the needs of the patients are met.
• Assist the licensed nursing staff in performing tasks within the scope of the CNA’s or MHT's training and experience.
• Provide direct patient care, ensuring daily living activities and custodial care are performed.
• Communicate medical and emotional needs of patients and observations to licensed nursing staff.
• Perform additional duties and interventions as directed by the licensed nurse, including managing the overall day-to-day functioning of the program.
• Assist other staff in patient chart production, meal preparation, telephone answering, and supervising patients during staff break periods.

Qualifications
