Position Summary:

The CNA, under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, provides personal care to patients, understanding and reacting to their unique needs. Works collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure safe patient care. The Specialist status includes proficiency in Unit Secretary duties and/or Telemetry Tech duties, with training provided on the job.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED preferred
• Current CNA listing with North Carolina Division of Facility Services, with no substantiated abuse, neglect, or misappropriation findings
• American Heart Association BLS Certification
• For Telemetry Tech role: Completion of telemetry monitoring course or competency training in arrhythmia interpretation
• For Unit Secretary role: Completion of basic unit secretary training (e.g., physician order transcription, data entry)

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and move at least 50 pounds
• Ability to see colors and at least 1 mm squares
• Normal hearing range
• Ability to reach overhead
• Remain calm and function effectively during stressful situations
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to operate equipment and carry supplies
• Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods
