Job summary

DRH Health is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant in Duncan, Oklahoma. You will provide direct patient care under the supervision of an RN or LPN, including turning, feeding, and grooming, while documenting care and monitoring vital signs.

Vigilance in infection control and patient confidentiality is essential, with duties spanning mobility, transport, and supply stocking. The role requires completion of an approved Oklahoma Nurse Aide Training program and current BLS certification.

Qualifications

  • Must have completed an approved Oklahoma Nurse Aide Training program.
  • Certification by the Oklahoma State Health Department.
  • American Heart Association BLS required; may have up to 30 days from hire to earn BLS.

Responsibilities

  • Provide patient care under the direction of an RN or LPN, including turning, moving, or ambulating patients, feeding, bathing, and grooming.
  • Document patient care timely and accurately; monitor vital signs and assess needs.
  • Maintain infection-control policies and safety protocols; protect patient confidentiality.
  • Assist with transporting patients and stocking supplies; support team with procedures and equipment.

Job description

The CNA provides compassionate care to individuals and families under the direction of a registered nurse (RN) or licensed practical nurse (LPN).RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):Provides patient care, under the direction of the registered nurse (RN) or licensed practical nurse (LPN), which may include but is not limited to turning, moving, or ambulating patients, gathering medical supplies, bathing and grooming patients by brushing their hair, teeth, shaving them, etc., feeding patients and documenting their food and liquid intake, checking vital signs, finger sticks, answering patient call lights, cleaning rooms and bed linens, stocking supplies, assisting with some medical procedures, and transporting patients.Protects patients and team members by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.Documents patient care services timely and accurately.Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.Ensures operation of equipment by verifying preventive maintenance requirements are completed, calling for repairs, and evaluating new equipment and techniques.Maintains a cooperative relationship among health care teams by communicating information and participating in team problem-solving methods.Regular attendance and punctuality for scheduled shifts.Appropriately adapts assessment, treatment, and/or care methods to accommodate the physical, cultural, age-specific, and other developmental needs of each person served.Maintains professional and technical knowledge through continuing education opportunities including internal and external educational offerings.Must adhere to safety protocols at all times.Utilization of assistive devices for lifting is mandatory.Per DRH policy, all required conditions of employment must be met and maintained including required vaccinations.This position requires respirator and fit testing. Required testing will be performed on all team members at risk for exposure to airborne infectious diseases, droplet producing procedures, or any caustic chemicals.Implement DRH Standards of Behavior and exhibit behaviors consistent with DRH core values.Performs other related duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications: Communication skills including fluency in oral and written English. Basic computer skills including the ability to send/receive email, navigate information technology associated with the position, and use Electronic Health Record information tools. Ability to remain flexible to quickly adapt to urgent situations. Ability to adapt procedures, processes, tools, equipment, and techniques to accomplish the requirements of the position. Must be able to take call and respond within 60 minutes.Education and/or Experience: Completion of an approved Oklahoma Nurse Aide Training program, or previous health care related experience, or other related experience or training.Certifications, Licenses, Registrations: Certification by the Oklahoma State Health Department and registration as a Certified Nurse Aide. American Heart Association BLS required; May have up to 30 days from date of hire or transfer to earn BLS. For those positions requiring travel, a current valid driver’s license and automobile liability insurance must be maintained.Safety-Sensitive Position - This is a “Safety-Sensitive” Position as defined by Oklahoma law.
