Job summary

Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center in Kodiak, AK is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide clinical and clerical support in the Long Term Care department, promoting a resident-directed model of care in a home-like setting.

You will assist residents with activities of daily living and life engagement, perform routine nursing tasks, and support various departments in line with Providence policies.

Qualifications

• Must complete twelve (12) hours of in-service training annually to maintain certification.
• Alaska Nursing Assistant Certification License and BLS (American Heart Association) must be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic nursing and household tasks to support a resident-directed model of care.

Job description

Certified Nursing Assistant provides a wide verity of clinical and clerical support to the Long Term Care department and other departments in accordance with Providence philosophy, objectives, policies, procedures and standards. The Certified Nursing Assistant performs basic provides routine nursing and household duties/tasks to promote a resident directed model of care in the home-like setting. These duties/tasks center around the residents by assisting them in all activities of daily living and life engagement.

Required Qualifications

• Coursework/Training: Must complete twelve (12) hours of in-service training annually to maintain certification.
• Upon hire: Alaska Nursing Assistant Certification License National Provider BLS - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• 6 months experience as a nurse aide, nursing assistant or private care-giver
