Job summary

CommuniCare Health Services, Buckhannon, WV, seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to serve as RN Staff Development Coordinator / CNA Instructor for Holbrook Healthcare Center. The role targets building a skilled, professional nursing team in a post-acute setting.

The position entails coordinating nurse aide training, developing teaching materials, and directing state-mandated inservicing and training hours, with oversight of orientation and testing processes.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current RN license in the state where the center is located.
• Prior experience in staff development in long term care desirable.
• Maintain "Train The Trainer" certificate for CNA training.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate/conduct nurse aide training classes and testing and maintain all required documentation.
• Develop materials, manuals, and teaching aides and maintain resource library.
• Coordinate annual state-mandated inservicing for all employees.
• Coordinate state-mandated training hours for all CNAs.
• Participate in QI meetings to identify areas for staff training and improvement.
• Develop, implement, and maintain an effective orientation program.
• Conduct/coordinate skills testing.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Must possess a current license as a RN in the state where the center is located.
• Prior work/life experiences, preferably in a healthcare setting.
• Maintain "Train The Trainer" certificate for CNA training
• Prior experience in staff development in long term care desirable.
• Prior supervisory experience, preferably in a long-term care center.
