Job summary

The Nevada Department of Corrections is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant 2 at Ely State Prison. CNAs provide basic health assessments, assist with activities of daily living, and report changes to the supervising nurse.

Responsibilities include basic nursing care, documentation, infection control, patient safety, and cooperation with the medical team to support patient rights and well-being within the facility.

Qualifications

• Certification as a CNA by the Nevada State Board of Nursing.
• Six months of CNA or Nursing Assistant Trainee experience, or six months as CNA I in Nevada state service.
• Ability to take and record vital signs and assist with ADLs.
• Knowledge of infection control and patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Provide ADL assistance: toileting, bathing, dressing, eating, mobility.
• Collect, report and record health data; observe changes in health status.
• Assist with basic nursing procedures as directed by licensed staff.
• Document responses and communicate resident concerns to staff.
• Maintain safety and infection control within the therapeutic environment.
