Job summary

The Nevada Department of Corrections in Ely seeks a Certified Nursing Assistant 2 to assist the prison nursing team at Ely State Prison, under the supervision of a Correctional Nurse 2. You will support basic health assessments and document findings on flow sheets and treatment records.

Responsibilities include basic nursing and ADL care, infection control, reporting changes in health status, and assisting with simple medical procedures.

Qualifications

• Certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant by the Nevada State Board of Nursing.
• Six months of experience as a CNA or Nursing Assistant Trainee, or six months as a CNA I in Nevada State service.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic nursing and personal care under supervision.
• Collect, report and record data related to health status.
• Observe residents/patients for changes in health status and report to nursing staff.
• Provide ADL assistance (toileting, bathing, dressing, eating, mobility).
• Maintain safety and infection control practices and follow Nurse Practice Act.
