Job summary

AMEDISYS HOME HEALTH is hiring a hospice aide to provide personal care and support in patients' homes. The role requires CNA experience in the last two years and current CPR certification, plus a PA CNA license and valid driver’s license.

Join one of the largest home health and hospice providers in the U.S. for a full-time day position with a $19–$22 per hour pay range and a $5,000 sign-on bonus. Eligible benefits and mileage reimbursement apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current state certification (or registration) as a nurse assistant as per state requirements.
• CNA experience within the last two years.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and liability insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care services to patients.
• Applies safety principles and body mechanics during personal care such as ambulation, transferring, ROM, positioning, and homemaking.
• Plans and prepares nutritious meals, assists with feeding.
• Performs homemaking and environmental services as assigned.
• Observes, reports, and documents any changes in patient status; reports to primary nurse when needed.
• Follows written instructions from a registered nurse for care as per plan of care.
• Assists patients with prescribed exercises as instructed by nurse or therapist.
• Performs and records simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Applies safety principles and proper body mechanics to the performance of specific techniques of personal and supportive care such as ambulation of clients, transferring clients, assisting with the normal range of motion and positioning, and doing household chores.
• Plans and prepares nutritious meals, assists with feeding, as assigned.
• Performs homemaking and other environmental services as assigned.
• Observes, reports, and documents any changes in patient' s status. If unable to perform a certain task, report to the primary nurse.
• Follow specific written instructions for personal care prepared by a registered nurse in accordance with the plan of care. Written instructions are to be received prior to the delivery of services.
• Assists patients with prescribed exercises as instructed by nurse or therapist.
• Performs and records simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin.
• Other duties as assigned.
