Job summary

Amedisys is seeking a dedicated hospice aide to provide in-home care to patients in the Harrisburg area. This full-time day position requires a PA CNA license, CPR certification, and a commitment to patient comfort and dignity.

You will assist with personal care, mobility, meals, and light household tasks under the direction of a registered nurse. Ideal candidates bring CNA experience within the last two years and a reliable driving record.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current state CNA certification/registration required.
• CNA experience within last two years preferred.
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care services to patients.
• Observes, reports, and documents changes in patient status to the nurse.
• Assists with meals, feeding, and nutrition when assigned.
• Performs homemaking and environmental tasks as directed.
• Follow written care plans and assist with prescribed exercises as instructed.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care services to patients.
• Applies safety principles and proper body mechanics to the performance of specific techniques of personal and supportive care such as ambulation of clients, transferring clients, assisting with the normal range of motion and positioning, and doing household chores.
• Plans and prepares nutritious meals, assists with feeding, as assigned.
• Performs homemaking and other environmental services as assigned.
• Observes, reports, and documents any changes in patient's status. If unable to perform a certain task, report to the primary nurse.
• Follow specific written instructions for personal care prepared by a registered nurse in accordance with the plan of care. Written instructions are to be received prior to the delivery of services.
• Assists patients with prescribed exercises as instructed by nurse or therapist.
• Performs and records simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current state certification (or registration) as a nurse assistant as per state certification/registration requirements.
• CNA experience within the last two years.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and liability insurance.
