Job summary

Amedisys in Pennsylvania is hiring a hospice aide to provide personal care and companionship in patients' homes. The role emphasizes safety, mobility assistance, meal support, and light homemaking under the guidance of a registered nurse.

This is a full-time daytime position with competitive pay and benefits. Candidates should have a PA CNA license, CNA experience within the last two years, CPR certification, a high school diploma, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care services to patients.
• Assists with ambulation, transfers, ROM, positioning, and light homemaking.
• Plans and prepares nutritious meals and assists with feeding.
• Observes, reports, and documents changes in patient status; report to RN.
• Follow written instructions from a registered nurse.
• Assists with prescribed exercises as instructed by nurse or therapist.
• Performs simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin.
• Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care services to patients.
• Applies safety principles and proper body mechanics to the performance of specific techniques of personal and supportive care such as ambulation of clients, transferring clients, assisting with the normal range of motion and positioning, and doing household chores.
• Plans and prepares nutritious meals, assist s with feeding, as assigned.
• Performs homemaking and other environmental services as assigned.
• Observes, reports, and documents any changes in patient's status. If unable to perform a certain task, report to the primary nurse.
• Follow specific written instructions for personal care prepared by a registered nurse in accordance with the plan of care. Written instructions are to be received prior to the delivery of services.
• Assists patients with prescribed exercises as instructed by nurse or therapist.
• Performs and records simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current state certification (or registration) as a nurse assistant as per state certification/registration requirements.
• CNA experience within the last two years.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and liability insurance.
