Job summary

Amedisys’ Compassionate Care Hospice (CCH), an Amedisys Company, is seeking a qualified Home Health Aide to join our team serving The Villages, FL. The role involves providing comprehensive personal care and routine homemaking in patients' homes with daily travel within the assigned territory.

The ideal candidate will hold a CNA certification with recent experience, CPR certification, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current state certification as a nurse assistant (CNA).
• CNA experience within the last two years.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care services to patients.
• Applies safety principles and proper body mechanics in care tasks.
• Plans and prepares nutritious meals and assists with feeding.
• Performs homemaking and environmental services as assigned.
• Observes and reports changes in patient status to the nurse.

• This position is based in The Villages, FL and requires daily travel within the assigned territory. Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.

Salary Range

$18–$19 hourly. Final compensation may vary based on experience and skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care services to patients.
• Applies safety principles and proper body mechanics to the performance of specific techniques of personal and supportive care such as ambulation of clients, transferring clients, assisting with the normal range of motion and positioning, and doing household chores.
• Plans and prepares nutritious meals, assists with feeding, as assigned.
• Performs homemaking and other environmental services as assigned.
• Observes, reports, and documents any changes in patient's status. If unable to perform a certain task, report to the primary nurse.
• Follow specific written instructions for personal care prepared by a registered nurse in accordance with the plan of care. Written instructions are to be received prior to the delivery of services.
• Assists patients with prescribed exercises as instructed by nurse or therapist.
• Performs and records simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current state certification (or registration) as a nurse assistant as per state certification/registration requirements.
• CNA experience within the last two years.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and liability insurance.
