Job summary

Amedisys Hospice is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to join our Hialeah-based team. This full-time role requires daily travel within the assigned territory and follows a M-F 8am–5pm schedule.

You will provide direct patient care and support with activities of daily living in patients’ homes. Qualified candidates must hold an active CNA certification, have CNA experience within the last two years, and possess CPR certification.

• Current state CNA certification required.
• CNA experience within the last two years.
• CPR certification required.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care services to patients.
• Assists with meals, homemaking, and mobility.
• Observes and reports changes in patient status.
• Follows plan of care written by a registered nurse.
• Performs simple urine tests as instructed.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care services to patients.
• Applies safety principles and proper body mechanics to the performance of specific techniques of personal and supportive care such as ambulation of clients, transferring clients, assisting with the normal range of motion and positioning, and doing household chores.
• Plans and prepares nutritious meals, assists with feeding, as assigned.
• Performs homemaking and other environmental services as assigned.
• Observes, reports, and documents any changes in patient's status. If unable to perform a certain task, report to the primary nurse.
• Follow specific written instructions for personal care prepared by a registered nurse in accordance with the plan of care. Written instructions are to be received prior to the delivery of services.
• Assists patients with prescribed exercises as instructed by nurse or therapist.
• Performs and records simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current state certification (or registration) as a nurse assistant (CNA) as per state certification/registration requirements REQUIRED.
• CNA experience within the last two years.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and liability insurance.
