Job summary

Bonner General Health Community Hospice in Sandpoint, ID is seeking a Part-Time Certified Nursing Assistant to join our hospice team. This on-site role focuses on compassionate, home-based patient care with an emphasis on autonomy and teamwork within our interdisciplinary group.

Ideal candidates will have a CNA license in Idaho, BLS, and at least 1 year of direct patient care experience, with hospice/Med/Surg exposure preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited CNA program.
• Hospice training provided by Bonner General Health Community Hospice.
• Minimum one year of direct patient care experience.
• Hospice and Med/Surg experience preferred.
• Current Idaho CNA license, and current BLS (AHA) certification.
• Valid driver’s license; access to personal vehicle.
• Must pass criminal history background check.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive, individualized hospice care and education to patients and families.
• Work autonomously while collaborating with the interdisciplinary hospice team.
• Demonstrate strong critical thinking and assessment skills.
• Support emotional and practical needs of patients and their loved ones.

Hospice CNAs provide comprehensive, individualized care, education and support to Hospice clients and their care providers. Must work well autonomously and partner closely with the Hospice team. Must have excellent critical thinking and assessment skills.

Bonner General Health Community Hospice is the only Not for Profit Community Hospice serving Bonner and Boundary Counties. We are the ONLY 5 STAR rated Hospice in all of North Idaho, rated by families who have received our services.

Our Hospice provides care for community members in their homes. Our Hospice team is very close knit, providing highly personalized, compassionate care in all they do. Our team are highly dedicated, skilled, and compassionate coming from many different back grounds offering a wide range of skills and work experience.

Our interdisciplinary team includes a Physician Medical Director, a Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Case Managers, Certified Nurses Aides, Social workers, Chaplains, Volunteers, Bereavement Coordinator, Hospital pharmacists, Therapists, our amazing office support team, as well as support from ancillary departments through our organization who all strive to provide excellence in quality compassionate care with a high degree of professionalism, knowledge and skill. Our nurses provide availability to our patients and their families 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Our department is looking for an individual who can work autonomously while functioning as an integral part of our team-centered patient care. Someone with a passion for end of life care, who can critically think through variety of situations and who provide the highest compassion and caring support for our patients and their families, our volunteers and our community.

Education

Graduate from an accredited CNA program

Hospice training as provided by BGH

Experience

Documented evidence of a minimum one year professional experience in direct patient care

Hospice and Med/Surg experience preferred

Licenses needed

Current Idaho CNA license

Current BLS (AHA) certification

Valid driver’s license

Requirements of Employment

Personal vehicle for on-the-job transportation in all road and weather conditions, climate

Provide proof of liability insurance on personal vehicle

Must be able to successfully pass a driver’s license record background check

Employment is contingent upon successfully passing a criminal history background check (per 42 CFR 418.114-L95)
