PeaceHealth Home Health in Ketchikan, Alaska seeks a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for per diem relief, days. Salary range is $24.01–$36.01 per hour, with hiring rate depending on education, experience, collective bargaining agreement, and seniority.

The CNA assists professional nursing personnel by providing direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse, and participates in basic clinical tasks and documentation as part of a compassionate care team.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of CNA experience, preference for acute care.
• Knowledge and application of age-specific growth and development principles.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing personnel with direct patient care under RN supervision.
• Perform CPR, vital signs, intake/output, dressing, and reporting signs of conditions.
• Provide patient bathing, grooming, feeding, and mobility assistance.
• Support patient mobility and transfers with or without assistive devices.
• Maintain unit supplies and stock patient rooms and care areas.
• Document patient care data accurately.
• Provide clerical support: order entry, chart processing, phones, etc.

PeaceHealth Home Health in Ketchikan, Alaska is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for a Per Diem/Relief, 0.00 FTE, Day position. Salary range: $24.01–$36.01. Hiring rate depends on education, experience, collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.

Job Summary

Assist professional nursing personnel in providing quality, compassionate patient care by performing tasks involving direct and indirect patient care under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse.

Responsibilities

• Assists in providing direct patient care as delegated by the Registered Nurse within the scope of the CNA licensure.
• Performs basic technical skills such as CPR, vital sign measurement, fluid intake/output, dressing application, and recognizing and reporting signs of common conditions.
• Performs basic medical examinations: bathing, mouth and skin care, grooming and dressing, toileting assistance, eating and hydration.
• Helps patients walk, exercise, and move in and out of bed.
• Maintains unit supplies by stocking patient rooms and supply areas to meet patient care needs.
• Documents relevant patient care data.
• Provides clerical support: order entry, chart processing, answering telephones, etc.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of CNA experience, with a preference for experience in an acute care facility.
• Knowledge and application of age‑specific principles of growth and development.

Credentials

• Certified Nurse Assistant – Alaska.
• Basic Life Support upon hire.
• Must submit fingerprinting: State of Alaska.

Working Conditions

• Patient handling no greater than 35 lbs without assistive equipment.
• Requires fine motor skills for medical equipment and precise procedures.
• Push/Pull frequently up to 45 lbs.
• Hands‑on CPR at least 20 minutes using 100‑125 lbs force; frequency seldom or occasionally.
• Must move frequently, bend, stoop, squat, reach, kneel, and lift non‑patient items up to 20 lbs occasionally.
• Exposed to biohazard, body fluids and airborne particles.
• Must work in a noisy environment.
• Vision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted).
• Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
