Position Summary: This is a full-time, 32-hour position. The Certified Nursing Assistant is a paraprofessional member of the Interdisciplinary
Team who performs various services for a patient and family as necessary to meet the patient's personal needs.
T h e C N A is responsible for observing, reporting, and documenting care performed.

Essential Job Functions

• Responsible for performing personal care needs after being given a patient's assignment and attending to his/her requests promptly. If unable to perform a certain task, report to the RN immediately.
• Responsible for meeting the safety needs of patients and using equipment safely and properly
• Responsible for giving direct personal care, including complete or partial baths in the tub or shower as ordered, back rubs, oral hygiene, hair care, shaving (using an electric razor only), and changing bed linen as often as assigned.
• Responsible for assisting in the dressing and undressing of patients as assigned.
• Responsible for providing proper care and observation of the patient’s skin to prevent breakdown of tissue over bony prominence.
• Responsible for reporting on the patient's condition and significant changes to the assigned RN
• Responsible for being aware of and reporting on the status changes of the caregiver or other individuals living with the patient, and interpersonal issues that may come up
• Assist in ambulation and exercise as instructed by the RN or therapist while adhering to the transfer/assist transfer policy of the agency.
• Assistance with self-administered medications as allowed by state regulations ('reminders.
