Job summary

Careage At Home is hiring compassionate CNAs to provide in-home care for seniors in Pierce and Thurston Counties, Washington. Multiple weekend, part-time positions available with mileage reimbursement and a competitive hourly wage.

Applicants must hold a WA CNA license, current First Aid/CPR, and a Food Handlers Card. The role involves direct patient care under a licensed nurse and requires reliable transportation to patient homes.

Qualifications

• Have a sympathetic attitude toward the care of the sick and elderly.
• Ability to carry out directions, read and write.
• Maturity and ability to deal effectively with the demands of the job.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to patients under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Perform personal care, bathing and hands-on care as assigned.
• Complete visit records in a timely manner as per policy.
• Report changes in patient condition to the RN.
• Assist with medications ordinarily self-administered as assigned.
• Attend in-service and continuing education programs as scheduled.

JOB SUMMARY:

The purpose of this position is to provide direct care to patients, under the supervision of a licensed nurse, in accordance with policies and procedures.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

Works indoors in Agency office and patient homes and travels to/from patient homes.

Requirements

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Understands and adheres to established Agency policies and procedures.
• Performs personal care, bath and hands-on care as assigned.
• Completes appropriate visit records in a timely manner as per Agency policy.
• Reports changes in the patient’s condition and needs to the RN.
• Performs household services essential to health care in the home as assigned.
• Ambulates and exercises the patient as assigned.
• Assists with medications that are ordinarily self-administered as assigned.
• Attends in-service and continuing education programs as scheduled and necessary.
• Attends patient care conferences as scheduled.

LIFTING REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to perform the following tasks if necessary:

• Ability to participate in physical activity.
• Ability to work for extended period of time while standing & involving physical activity.
• Heavy lifting.
• Ability to do extensive bending, lifting and standing on a regular basis.
