Job summary

VNA of NWI Hospice in Valparaiso, IN, is seeking compassionate CNAs and HHAs to join our intimate 6-bed inpatient hospice center. This part-time day position runs 7:00am–3:30pm with rotating weekends, offering meaningful, hands-on care to patients and families.

Responsibilities include personal care, daily living assistance, and collaboration with nurses and other professionals. We value empathy, professionalism and strong communication, with shift differentials and ongoing education

Qualifications

• Indiana CNA certification or HHA certification is required.
• Hospice, long-term care, hospital, or home health experience is preferred.
• Current CPR certification preferred.
• Demonstrated empathy, professionalism and strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care (bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, mobility).
• Assist with activities of daily living while promoting comfort and dignity.
• Monitor and report changes to the nursing team.
• Maintain a clean, safe patient environment.
• Provide compassionate emotional support to patients and families.
• Collaborate with nurses, social workers, chaplains and other team members.
• Document care provided per agency policies.

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) / Home Health Aide (HHA)

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and Home Health Aides (HHAs) to join our team at our intimate 6-bed inpatient hospice center. This is a unique opportunity to provide personalized, hands-on care and emotional support to patients and families during one of life's most important journeys.

Our hospice team is committed to delivering comfort, dignity, and exceptional care in a peaceful, home-like environment.
