Job summary

Heartland Hospice is seeking a dependable Hospice Aide/CNA to provide compassionate, hands-on care for patients in home, assisted living, or inpatient settings. You’ll assist with daily activities, observe symptoms, and support families during end-of-life journeys with empathy and professionalism.

Qualifications include an active CNA license, CPR certification, a valid driver’s license with a reliable vehicle, and at least six months of direct patient care experience.

• Offer emotional support to patients and families.
• Maintain accurate documentation of visits.
• Attend team meetings and participate in Quality Improvement activities.
• Practice infection control and safety protocols.

Compensation may vary within the salary range provided based on several factors, including but not limited to a candidate's geographic location, experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, internal equity, and department equity. Gentiva provides associates with a comprehensive Total Rewards package, of which base pay is just one component.

Salary Range: $19.360/hr to $22.65/hr

Essential Functions

About You

Qualifications – What You’ll Bring:

• Active CNA license in the state of employment (Required)
• Current CPR certification (Required)
• Driver’s license and reliable vehicle with insurance (Required)
• Six (6) months of direct patient care experience (Required)
• Comfortable working in home settings, hospice facilities, or long-term care environments
• Demonstrated compassion, patience, and ability to handle emotional situations
• Willingness to work independently and adapt to changing patient needs

Preferred Background (Not Required)

• Experience in home health, hospice, palliative care, or oncology
• Prior roles in hospital nursing, ICU, geriatrics, med-surg, ER, telemetry, or nursing homes
• Exposure to end-of-life care, wound care, or admissions support
