Qualifications

• Prior LTC experience preferred but not required.
• Able to effectively communicate with residents and nursing staff.
• Successful completion of State Approved Nursing Assistant Training and Competency Evaluation Program.

Responsibilities

• Answers call lights to determine resident needs and ensures call lights are within reach.
• Gives direct resident care such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
• Assists residents with activities of daily living and mobility.
• Explains procedures to residents and maintains patient comfort.
• Assists with bowel and bladder functions and hydration.
• Transports residents to appointments and activities as needed.
• Turns and repositions bedfast residents; monitors vital signs as directed.
• Maintains cleanliness of residents' units and care areas.
• Records all care provided and reports changes to the nurse in charge.
