Good Samaritan in De Smet, SD is seeking a Nursing Assistant (NA) to provide resident-centered care under RN supervision in a long-term care setting.Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, vital signs, mobility, documentation, and infection control.

The role supports a flex schedule with 36 hours per week, plus a $10,000 sign-on bonus and shift differentials for evenings, nights, and weekends. Requires CNA certification and state-specific requirements to be met.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required.
• Minimum age of 16. Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
• CNA certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through Endorsement.
• Completes yearly dept. specific competency testing and maintains continuing education credits (min 12 hours per year).
• Depending on state, may be classified as Sanford Category II Driver with license requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under RN supervision.
• Assist with bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, feeding, and recording vital signs.
• Document resident interactions and communicate changes to the charge nurse.
• Assist with transfers, repositioning, mobility, ROM, and safe handling.
• Support wellness, recreational programs, and participate in committees as needed.
