Job summary

Essentia Health Virginia Care Center is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide direct resident care and support safety and comfort in a skilled nursing setting.

The role includes personal hygiene support, nutrition assistance, and timely reporting of changes to the shift nurse, while maintaining a clean, safe environment. The position works 0.8 FTE with flexible D/E/N shifts, weekends on rotation, and holiday coverage.

Qualifications

• Current registration on applicable state nursing assistant registry or obtains within 4 months of hire/ transfer date.
• If transitioning from the Nursing Assistant – Student position, must have registration upon hire/transfer.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to skilled nursing facility residents and ensure safety and comfort.
• Assist with personal hygiene and nutritional needs.
• Recognize and report changes in resident condition to shift nurse.
• Maintain a safe, clean, attractive environment for residents.
• Identify safety hazards and initiate corrective actions.
