Job summary

Good Samaritan in De Smet, SD, is seeking a compassionate Nursing Assistant to provide resident-centered care in a long-term care setting under RN supervision. The role includes basic daily living assistance, documentation, and teamwork with the nursing staff.

This full-time position offers a 40-hour week, a $10,000 sign-on bonus, flexible/varied shifts, weekend and night differential, and a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Required CNA certification with the State Board of Nursing, or in process within four months of date into the position.
• High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
• Minimum age of 16.
• Prior CNA experience in long-term care preferred.
• CNA training and certification provided by facility.
• Annual competency testing and continuing education credits required.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of an RN.
• Assist with bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, transferring, repositioning, and mobility.
• Record vital signs and document resident interactions and outcomes.
• Communicate changes in resident condition to the charge nurse and care team.
• Assist with meals and dining to create a positive dining experience and support wellness activities.
