Job summary

MUSC Health Chester Medical Center is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to join the Medical Surgical Team on a PRN basis. The CNA provides patient care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, assisting with daily activities and ensuring comfort and safety for patients.

Requires SC CNA licensure, current AHA BLS, and at least a high school diploma; prior patient care experience is preferred. Scheduling is rotating and hours vary by unit needs, with roughly 12 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: A high school diploma or GED required.
• At least one year of patient care experience in a health care facility or as CNA is preferred.
• Currently registered as a Certified Nurse Assistant in South Carolina; must be current in the Nurse Aide Registry.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) must be obtained before seeing patients.

Responsibilities

• The Certified Nursing Assistant works under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse and performs multi-skilled duties within training and certification in caring for the patient.
• Assists nursing team with patient care activities and related services for personal needs, comfort, and safety; assists with hygiene, dressing, walking, and transportation to tests and procedures.
• Changes bed linens and may serve/collect food trays and provide between-meal nourishment; may record temperature or vital signs under direction of a nurse.
