Job summary

MUSC Health Chester Medical Center is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to join the Medical Surgical Team on a PRN basis. The CNA provides patient care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, assisting with daily activities and ensuring comfort and safety for patients.

Requires SC CNA licensure, current AHA BLS, and at least a high school diploma; prior patient care experience is preferred. Scheduling is rotating and hours vary by unit needs, with roughly 12 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: A high school diploma or GED required.
• At least one year of patient care experience in a health care facility or as CNA is preferred.
• Currently registered as a Certified Nurse Assistant in South Carolina; must be current in the Nurse Aide Registry.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) must be obtained before seeing patients.

Responsibilities

Job Description

The Certified Nursing Assistant works under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. The CNA performs multi-skilled duties within the limits of training and certification in caring for the patient.

Assists nursing team with a variety of patient care activities and related services necessary in caring for the personal needs, comfort, and safety of patients. Assists patients with personal hygiene, dressing, walking. Changes bed linens and assists with patient transportation to tests and procedures. May serve and collect food trays and provide patients with between-meal nourishment. May record temperature or vital signs under the direction of a nurse.

PRN Status Clause

This is a PRN as-needed position, you must be available to work at least 12 hours bi-weekly, as needed according to departmental demands. You may be required to work additional hours if requested by your supervisor to accomplish work objectives. Work hours may vary (increase or decrease) depending on the needs of the unit.

Additional Job Description
