Job summary

Good Samaritan is seeking a Nursing Assistant to care for residents in a long-term care setting. You will work under the supervision of a registered nurse and provide daily living assistance as well as basic nursing care according to each resident's care plan.

The role requires CNA certification with state boards, or enrollment in a certification program. Expect varied shifts, weekend work, and compatibility with infection control policies.

Qualifications

• CNA certification required or in process within four months of start date.
• Minimum age 16; prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
• Annual competency testing and 12 hours continuing education required.
• If applicable, state registry as UAP may be required.
• May be classified as Sanford Category II Driver with driving record checks.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care per the care plan.
• Assist with daily living activities: bathing, grooming, toileting, dressing.
• Record vital signs and report changes to the RN.
• Assist with transfers, mobility, and correct transfer techniques.
• Support wellness programs and complete required documentation.
