Job summary

ChildServe seeks compassionate nursing assistant to join our inpatient Pediatric Complex Medical program in Johnston, IA. Provide daily care for infants to age 14, following care plans and collaborating with nurses and therapists to ensure each child’s needs are met.

You will work 3 shifts per week (6:00am–6:30pm), with every 4th weekend. Benefits include medical/dental/vision, retirement with company match, and generous PTO, including 16 hours front-loaded.

Qualifications

• Active DIA CNA certification in Iowa.
• Certified Medication Aide preferred.
• Must obtain BLS within 90 days of start.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and mobility within work area.
• English language proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily care routines including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility while honoring privacy and dignity.
• Follow individualized care plans and collaborate with nurses and therapists to meet each child’s needs.
• Maintain cleanliness, comfort, and readiness for scheduled activities.
• Support families by sharing updates and reinforcing care techniques.

We support infants through age 14 who are unable to live at home due to their complex medical need, helping each child thrive in a safe and caring setting.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Help children look and feel their best by maintaining cleanliness, comfort, and readiness for scheduled activities.
• Support families by sharing updates and reinforcing care techniques that promote each child’s progress and well-being.
• Accurately document care provided and maintain compliance with ChildServe policies and professional standards.

What You’ll Need

• Active DIA certification as a nursing assistant in the state of Iowa.
• Certified Medication Aid preferred
• Must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Red Cross or American Heart Association within 90 days and before working independently.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs, be mobile within the assigned work area, and frequently bend, lift, reach, and stand.
• Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.
