Job summary

ChildServe in Johnston, IA is seeking a CNA or CMA (Certified Medication Aide) to provide around-the-clock care in a pediatric complex medical program. You will work two 6:00am-6:00pm shifts per week, with every 4th weekend and two holidays per year.

Daily responsibilities include assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility, following care plans, documenting care, and communicating with families and a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Active Diaz certification (Iowa) as a Nursing Assistant is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of start date is required.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and be mobile in the work area.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily care routines including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
• Follow individualized care plans and collaborate with nurses and therapists to meet each child's needs.
• Maintain cleanliness, comfort, and readiness for scheduled activities.
• Support families by sharing updates and reinforcing care techniques.
• Accurately document care and maintain compliance with policies and professional standards.

We support individuals who are unable to live at home due to their complex medical needs, helping each individual thrive in a safe and caring setting.

Schedule

• 2 shifts per week, 6:00am-6:00pm
• every 4th weekend

What You'll Need

• Active DIA certification as a nursing assistant in the state of Iowa.
• Must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Red Cross or American Heart Association within 90 days and before working independently.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs, be mobile within the assigned work area, and frequently bend, lift, reach, and stand.
• Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.
