Job summary

Memorial Care Center in Belleville, IL seeks a compassionate CNA to provide patient care including hygiene, nutrition, ambulation, and safety under the Charge Nurse. You will document in patient records and assist with admissions, vital signs, and routine rounds to support resident well-being.

You will assist with transfers, turns every two hours, monitor intake and output, and ensure proper use of slings and equipment per orders.

Qualifications

• Active Certified Nurse Assistant certification in the state you will be working.
• CPR certification, or willing to obtain within six months of employment.
• Long-term care experience preferred.
• Excellent communication skills to interact verbally with patients, visitors, and staff.
• Ability to manage time and organize daily schedule to meet productivity standards.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift heavy objects using proper lifting techniques and with assistance when necessary.
• Ability to transfer and move patients who weigh 200+ lbs using proper lifting techniques and with assistance when necessary.
• Ability to push and pull equipment weighing in excess of 40lbs using proper techniques and with assistance when necessary.
• Manual dexterity, coordination and skillful use of hands when working with patients and equipment.
• Ability to perform necessary documentation in writing or use of tape recorder.
• Visual acuity with the ability to distinguish color.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care related support including hygiene, nutrition, ambulation, elimination, and safety as directed by Charge Nurse.
• Document appropriately into patient record charting.
• Complete admission procedures and orient new residents.
• Monitor vital signs and weight; report promptly.
• Turn and reposition residents every 2 hours; assist with transfers weighing 200+ lbs.
• Ensure proper equipment is applied per orders.
• Complete rounds and communicate with Charge Nurse at shift change.
• Maintain confidentiality and teamwork.
