Job summary

East Mississippi State Hospital is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide direct, hands-on care in a nursing home setting. You will assist residents with daily living activities and support the nursing team to ensure safe, dignified care.

Responsibilities include helping with bathing, dressing, grooming, measuring vitals, documenting care, and promoting comfort and independence while following facility policies and state regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
• Measure and record vital signs as directed.
• Observe changes in residents’ condition and report to licensed staff.
• Provide emotional support and promote comfort, dignity, and independence.
• Maintain accurate documentation of care provided.
• Follow infection control procedures and use PPE.
• Support resident rights, privacy, and confidentiality.
• Work with nursing staff and other departments to ensure quality care.
