Qualifications

• Currently licensed in VA as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
• CPR certification is required.
• Must be self-directed with the ability to work with little direct supervision.
• Calm demeanor when in caregiver roles or in patient homes.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care to patients, including baths and hygiene.
• Assist patients with dressing, feeding, and daily activities.
• Take and record vital signs as ordered (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure).
• Monitor and care for patients' skin to prevent tissue breakdown.
• Observe and report changes in patient condition to the RN.
• Assist with ambulation, exercise, and use of bedpans/urinals as directed.
• Keep patient living areas clean and orderly; assist with light laundry.
• Adhere to documentation procedures with accurate record-keeping.
• Maintain high standards of personal and professional conduct; protect privacy.
• Ensure patient safety by using equipment properly and following safety protocols.
• Participate in continuing education and IDT meetings.
