Job summary

Duke University Health System in Durham, NC is seeking a Nursing Assistant (NA) to support RN/LPN in delivering direct patient care and basic comfort needs. You will perform daily tasks, document care in the electronic health record, and help maintain a safe, clean environment across the unit.

Responsibilities include preparing patients and supplies for procedures, taking vital signs, assisting with ambulation, and supporting teaching activities as directed by the RN.

Qualifications

• Currently listed as a Nursing Assistant I with the NC DHHS, Division of Health Service Regulation.
• BCLS certification must be maintained/completed by the end of new hire orientation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients, equipment and supplies for procedures and provide assistance as required.
• Record patient data for medical records and notify RN/LPN of information collected.
• Take and record vital signs and assist with ambulation, bathing and daily activities.
• Maintain patient dignity, safety and privacy; document care in the EHR.
