Job summary

Alameda Health System is seeking a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant to perform a range of patient care tasks under supervision in hospital, skilled nursing facility, or clinic settings. Responsibilities include assisting with meals, hygiene, vital signs, and patient safety, while reporting changes to the nurse.

Qualifications include a High School diploma or GED, current Nursing Assistant Certification, and BLS certification within six months of hire.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Minimum six months experience in a Long Term Care Skilled Nursing setting preferred.
• BLS certification within six months of hire date.
• Current Nursing Assistant Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assists patients with meals, personal hygiene and incontinent care.
• Answers call lights promptly and maintains patient comfort and safety; adjusts beds, lighting, rails, pillows and tables; reports deviations in condition.
• Sets up suction and oxygen; assists with ambulation and transfers; reports airway concerns to nurse.
• Takes vitals (temp, pulse, respiration, BP); assists with ROM exercises; transports patients as needed.
• Provides sitter duties for one-to-one observation to protect patients and support emotional and physical needs.
• In outpatient settings, prepares examination rooms, takes vitals, assists clinicians, labels and delivers specimens, and maintains a clean clinical area.
