Job summary

Kindred Hospital Northland in Kansas City, MO, is seeking a nursing assistant to support patient care in a long-term acute care environment. You will assist with activities of daily living, vital signs, and routine treatments under the supervision of professional nursing staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (Preferred).
• Current Nursing Assistant Certification.
• BLS Certification.
• Minimum six months’ experience in acute or long-term care facility.

Responsibilities

• Consults with and keeps supervisor informed of unit activities, needs, and problems related to patient care.
• Provides general nursing care such as positioning the patient and assisting with activities of daily living.
• Takes and records vital signs and input/output accurately and documents in a timely manner.
• Prepares patient room and bed for admission and transfers; ensures cleanliness and comfort.
• Assists in admission, transfer, and discharge procedures; handles patient belongings.
• Answers patient call lights, telephone, and paging system and responds as appropriate.
• Under RN direction, performs routine treatment procedures and assists with complex treatments as needed.
• Assists with feeding and meal tray delivery.
