Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System is hiring for a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to support nursing units in the 12-hour evening-to-morning shift. The role includes patient care, transport, cleaning, stocking, and direct patient assistance under the supervision of the primary nurse.

CNA certification is required; non-certified staff may enroll in NGHS’s PCT Academy. New or transitioning CNAs will provide care to adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients, following population-specific

Qualifications

• CNA certification required; may enroll in NGHS in-house PCT Academy if not yet certified.
• Must have CNA certification to be considered for the position.
• Next PCT Academy cohort January 2027; hiring starts December 2026.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and report basic patient data (vital signs, weight, skin condition).
• Assist with positioning, mobility, hygiene, and comfort per procedure.
• Record intake and urine output and report changes to licensed staff.
• Perform basic technical tasks under supervision of shift nurse.
• Provide patient transport and assist with unit readiness and supplies.
• Maintain patient safety with Universal Precautions and hand hygiene policies.
