Job summary

AdventHealth in Tarpon Springs, FL is seeking a Patient Care Technician to provide direct patient care per policy and procedure across age groups and clinical settings. You will participate in emergencies, support quality initiatives, and uphold safety standards.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent; CNA/CPCT-A or BLS certification is required or preferred, with strong communication and patient-care skills. Eligible for benefits and day shift hours.

Job Description

• Performs treatments according to policy and procedure, providing patient care appropriate to age, mobility, acuity, and culture.
• Functions appropriately in clinical emergencies.
• Participates in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities and supports quality standards and initiatives.
• Follows prescribed isolation guidelines, demonstrates appropriate use of protective equipment, performs handwashing according to policy, and enforces safety regulations.
• Exhibits a desire to learn and upgrades skills continuously. Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.

Education

• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

Work Experience

• 1+ years of applicable PCT experience [Preferred]
• Previous bedside patient care in an acute care unit, unit secretary, monitor technician, or equivalent medical experience [Preferred]

Licenses And Certifications

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) [Required] OR
• Certified Patient Care Technician/Assistant (CPCT/A) [Required]
