Employee - Part-Time Service Workers Shelton, CT, US

Salary Range: $18.50 To $25.00 Annually

Day Shift / 8 hrs/wk / EOW

Summary of Position: Under the direction and supervision of a licensed nurse, performs basic nursing care procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• 1. Performs basic nursing care procedures under the direction and supervision of a licensed nurse. Follow treatment plan that was designed to meet the appropriate age, needs and abilities of each resident/patient including assisting with meals and nourishment’s, transferring using proper body mechanics and appropriate assistive devices, ambulation, bathing, toileting and dressing and grooming.
• 2. Observes and communicates pertinent information about the adult/older adult resident/patient’s condition to the appropriate facility staff.
• 3. Takes and records pulse, respirations, blood pressures and weight as needed.
• 4. Documents care and observations on work sheets and EMR accurately and in a timely manner.
• 5. Maintains cooperative relationships to enhance the efficient operation of the care team by providing support and assistance to co-workers.
• 6. Adheres to infection control practices.
• 7. Supports the psychosocial needs of the residents as per the plan of care and profile.
• 8. Participates in educational and inservice meeting to update knowledge of techniques, guidelines and regulations. Must attend all mandatory programs. Meets basic requirement for 12 hours of continuing education per year.
• 9. Uses equipment in an appropriate and safe manner. Adheres to standards of the Diligent Minimal Lift Program.
• 10. Follows facility policies and procedures.
• 11. P erforms other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: High School diploma or GED preferred

Experience: 6 months – 1 year experience as a CNA preferred

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: State of Connecticut CNA Certification; or within 120 days of CNA Certification course completion.

Ability to interact professionally with coworkers.

Function as a team member.

Ability to speak, read English in order to communicate with patients, residents and clinical staff.
